“TYPES”
A group I administrate started its life as an unofficial DYT group (see the “about” page), so “types” is the way we began describing different energies. Other systems may use energy, essence, spirit, personality types, style, seasons, and more.
Here’s the big takeaway – whatever term you use, let it describe you…and not define you.
Here’s the next big takeaway – Don’t be afraid to use the Season/Whatever/Essence/Energy/Type (SWEET) you choose that *describes* you…but don’t let that box define you.
Here’s an example. That older lady that everybody describes as “sweet” – does she act the way she does because she’s labeled sweet, or has she earned that label because it describes her?
On the other hand, does the one everybody avoids because she’s so prickly – is it cause or effect – is she prickly because that’s what people think…or do people think that because she’s prickly.
A little while ago, a video was posted showing two different jackets and asking which the watchers thought worked best. 75% of them answered according to *their* energy and not the energy of the model.
If we use our descriptors, it gives people a bit more insight into why we present ourselves the way that we do.
I’ve put a lot of time, thought, process and well…a bit of money…to discover for myself my best “descriptors.”

In DYT terms, Type 1, secondary 2.
Going back to my examples, must I behave relaxed, confident, and playful because that’s what the quiz said?
Or did the quiz accurately reflect me and it’s a good description?
Here’s why I think that matters:
In DYT, the Types define you. You *must* not wear black, gold, whatever…because Type.
T1s2, you *must* lead with yang, followed by a whole lot of yin.
Admittedly, I’m one of the folks who does fall into one of the DYT categories quite nicely, but I’ve chosen to expand that horizon a lot.
But…before I began exploring outside the DYT box, I was sort of lost because letting the Type define me, I was trying to fit the box.
Learning that the words describe me, not define me…I understand why I’m attracted to somethings, but not others. I get why I loved that sweater in the store, but never wear it.
I’ve embraced “elevated casual” because it makes sense.
The touch of “hippie chic” – oh my goodness, I am so happy that bell bottoms made it back!
Bottom line: the proper use of labels can be a good thing.
abusus non tollit usum
(The misuse of something does not eliminate the possibility of its correct use.)
The medical stuff is still here, and still vital to my physical well being and that affects the way I look and present myself. So, keep that in the background.
I admin a rogue (unofficial) facebook group that morphed from an unofficial Dress Your Truth thing into...whatever the heck we want it to be, so far as color/fashion/etc. A bunch of that will be here. Some of here will be there.
And there is a LOT out there. At the bottom of this page is a list of things on my radar.
Spiritual health - maybe in regards to psychology/ministry/Enneagram/Myers-Briggs
Botox and a chemical peel...
Here's the process - two weeks before the VI Peel, I got minimal botox into my upper and lower lips. Then we got COVID so it was three weeks before I got the peel (Thursday, October 26, 2023._

The information is that the more you moisturize, the less you peel...the better shape your skin is in before...the less you peel...and your skin will only peel as much as it needs to.
I was "supposed to" see peeling begin on Saturday or Sunday (no sign of it) but Monday morning I'm seeing some flaking on my chin.
Stay tuned...
